Tropical Medicine and Health (TMH), has been newly indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) by Clarivate
I am pleased to announce that our official journal, Tropical Medicine and Health (TMH), has been newly indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) by Clarivate. Currently, TMH has an impact factor of 3.6 and is ranked 3rd among 28 journals in the Tropical Medicine category in Journal Citation Reports, placing it in the Q1 category. With this new decision, it is expected that the journal will gain even more visibility and be accessed by a broader group of researchers.
According to Clarivate, journals indexed in SCIE must not only meet impact factor requirements but also adhere to strict criteria for quality and reputation. The inclusion of TMH in SCIE signifies that the journal continues to publish high-quality research and is internationally recognized.
This achievement is entirely due to the dedicated efforts of the editorial board members and the continued support from all of our society members. I sincerely thank you for your contributions.
Moving forward, TMH will continue to play a significant role in advancing the field of tropical medicine and global health and enhancing its academic value. I kindly ask for your continued support as we move forward in this endeavor.
Best wishes,
Masahiro Hashizume
Editor-in-Chief, Tropical Medicine and Health

President, Japan Association for International Health
- The world is full of health inequities. How do we eliminate unacceptable inequities? This is the most crucial issue for us all.
- We know that we have “global health” colleagues all over the world sharing the same vision. “Global health” is the process of making this world a better place by reducing health inequities.
